Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a website?

If you have too many customers then you do not need a website! Otherwise a website is a necessity in today's society because if your customers don't find you, they will find your competitors!

A website is a place (domain) on the Internet that can be used to share your ideas, services and products globally. It is available to your customers and associates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and often can be the first place people look before they do business with your company or organisation. Further more, the Internet has potential circulation figures and coverage area that can't be matched by other traditional mediums.

What can a website do for me?

You can use a website to:

  • SELL
    - sell products to anyone around the world, night or day and offer a choice of payment methods by having an online shop (eCommerce);
    - receive feedback and comments from your users.
  • PROMOTE
    - present vital company information to prospective clients such as business processes, pictures of your products, press releases, newsletters, bulletins and special reports;
    - integrate with social networks such as Twitter and Facebook;
    - advertise special offers;
  • SUPPORT
    - provide answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ);
    - provide technical documents for download;
    - provide contact information;
    - conduct online chat with clients and potential clients;
    - Email anyone in the world using your company branded email address.
  • REDUCE COSTS
    - save money on wages even though your business is running 24 hours, seven days a week;
    - provide updated content (brochures, catalogues etc) without paying re-printing or postage costs;
    - save costs on providing support;
    - increase sales;
    - be more efficient in your communication;
    - reduce customer service and administrative costs;
    - save costs on advertising - instead of paying for a large ad you can have a short ad and refer to your website;
    - save on rent and other property costs while still having a shop.

Can I see a website you have designed?

Abipo developed an eCommerce website for a Northern Ireland based company called Gourmet Fruit.

This site was created primarily so that Grourmet Apples (apples dipped in toffee and then coated in luxurious topping) could be sold online. Paypal was used as a 3rd party processor to accept payments via debit / credit card.

Karen McAvoy is the managing director of Karen McAvoy Publishing, a Northern Ireland based company that publishes magazines such as Ireland's Plumbing and Heating Magazine.

Karen wanted a modern 'Macromedia Flash' website that oozed flair and sophistication. As she wanted to keep development costs down and have the site online as soon as possible, Abipo helped her choose an existing website template and modified it to her specification.

Christian Communications Network CCN, a Northern Ireland based organisation, requested a custom designed website which also included a shop.

CCN asked for an SSL Certificate to help protect their customers sensitive data typed in at the browser (such as credit card and personal information) against online fraud. Sensitive data is now encryped so that it is transmitted securely to and from the web server. Data is also encrypted on the database for extra peace of mind.

The website was made search engine 'friendly' using different techniques (for example, modifying the websites metadata) and the www.ccnorg.com address was submitted to multiple search engines to get CCN's marketing campaign off to a good start.
